About Nichole L. Smith

In 2006 Nichole Smith began putting together a budding career as a professional freelance writer. Fast forward three years and she has built a solid foundation as not only a successful writer but as a social media marketing consultant as well. She has used her experience as a customer relations specialist and business marketer to create the type of content that catches clients’ eyes and brings readers back for more. She uses her writing talents to create informative and entertaining articles for companies and websites the world over.  She is the publisher of The Guilty Parent where she talks parenting with a dose of humor and realism.

Nichole is also active in the social networking space as a community manager for MothersClick.com. She recently became a  Co-Editor of the Parenting Channel at Lifetimemoms.com part of the Lifetime Digital Network, and she is also the Teens Editor for Type-A Mom.

Nichole is no newbie to social media and online communities. She began in 2000 at a little known site for moms called Clubmom (now Cafemom) as a board moderator for parents of school age kids and siblings. Nichole moved her boards to Cafemom when it launched in 2006 and her boards are still active today under Cafemom’s social networking groups. Since then Nichole has worked with other parenting centered sites such as Babyspot.com where she served as Community Manager and social media consultant.

She dedicates herself to helping companies and websites reach their audience through quality content and helping online communities grow through leadership and building strong foundations through social networking. In 2008, Nichole was recognized in 2008 as one of the 50 most powerful and influential women in social media.

Nichole makes her home in Rural NE Ohio with her children and husband.
